We have different types of events throughout the year:

Fundraising Events

• We fundraise throughout the year in a variety of ways to enable us to be generous to those in need in our community

Monthly Dinners (second Wednesday in the month)

• Soroptimist International members meet on the second Wednesday of each month excepting January at a designated venue on the North Shore.

• A speaker is invited to speak on areas of interest.

• Guests are welcome but booking is essential

Service Events

• Sewing days for Days for Girls

• Packing toilet bags

• Packing underwear packs

• Others as these are required

Advocacy Events

• We work with NZ National Council of Women when submissions are created to respond to issues of importance to all women in NZ. This includes responses to proposed legislation.

• We request information from Members of Parliament on issues of the day.

• We write to individuals in leadership positions in local government to comment on actions taken or concerns we wish to raise.

• We write to leaders in other organisations to comment on action that should/should not have been taken where we are concerned.

• We maintain a watching brief on current issues of concern. This includes:

  • Pay Equity

  • Water care

  • Use of Plastics​
